N.A.R. Commission Settlement. What do I need to know?
Valued Clients,
We know that the recent National Association of Realtors settlement has raised questions and created some uncertainty. We want to assure you that your team at Slifer Smith & Frampton has been prepared for the settlement practice changes well in advance of the implementation date. We have been through extensive training with legal and practice experts.
In short, we are in favor of any regulation, law, or standard that creates greater transparency in our industry. Our singular priority remains our relationships with our clients, and we encourage you to engage with us with your thoughts and questions.
If you have questions, Ask Us.
Two MLS practice changes took effect on August 17.
First, Buyers are now required to sign an agreement for services that clearly outlines how their agent is compensated, which will happen upfront before touring a home.
Second, the buyer agency fee was removed from all Multiple Listing Services (MLS) nationwide. Sellers can still offer compensation off the MLS.
